The capacity building project provides training and assistance to non-profit organizations operating and/or providing services in the City of Tacoma.
The priority focus is to strengthen black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) organizations, newly funded organizations and a select number of cultural organizations whose primary focus is in the arts, culture, or science with a mission to provide accessible public programming and/or youth education program in the Tacoma community.
The training is open to organizations currently funded by the City of Tacoma as well as those seeking funding from the city.
This program launches in 2024 and focuses in the following areas: grant management, capacity building, and professional development to strengthen small, culturally specific, community-based organizations that historically have not had access to the public and/or private funds necessary to build organizational capacity and infrastructure.
