Dr. Lael Wentland holds a PhD in bioengineering and brings a unique blend of scientific expertise and passion for the arts to her grant writing. She has spent her career developing diagnostic technologies in biotech startups and securing federal funding, focusing particularly on health innovations that reach underserved populations. Her passion for accessible healthcare developed while working in healthcare spaces in Vietnam and Tanzania, where she saw firsthand the gap between technology and real-world health needs. She communicates effectively across technical and cultural divides, working with clinicians, scientists, business teams, and mission-driven organizations to distill their messages into compelling grant narratives.
Beyond her scientific work, Dr. Wentland has helped her dance company, the Seattle Irish Dance Company, secure funding and grow its event offerings. When she's not writing grants or reviewing research, you'll find her cycling through the Pacific Northwest or at her sewing machine, working on her next project.
